Description: Design firms have buckets of data scattered across their servers. Typically, this data is isolated, scattered among differing programs and servers, and therefore completely devoid of any opportunity for aggregated analysis. But there is hope! In this session, we will look at methods of extracting those nuggets of gold found in the Revit database, in SQL databases of business financial platforms, and in GIS databases. We’ll then meld the data nuggets together using Power BI to glean a deeper understanding of project, and model performance. After developing an interactive dashboard, we’ll discuss what the data might reveal, and how to apply that knowledge to changing design and marketing methodologies.
Speaker Biography:
Andrew Watkins is a registered architect and Director of Building Technology. He has over 20 years in architecture, over 15 years of Revit use, and has developed firm-wide BIM standards and content libraries. His expertise in the BIM process has been deployed on projects ranging from small renovations to large research buildings at Colleges and Universities. Speaking experience includes Autodesk, Revit User Groups, BIMForum and Autodesk University.
