New Mexico Department of Transportation - NMDOT - 2017 – Statewide Training – Traveled to various district offices throughout the state to do onsite fundamentals to advanced training on Civil 3D and InfraWorks as they migrated from Bentley to Autodesk.

Polivio ensures ATG’s civil project deliverables are on time and on budget. Since 2013, Polivio has worked on international projects supporting and leading civil engineering firms and general contractors on civil infrastructure projects while gaining experience in land surveying, transportation, commercial and residential developments, mining, dredging operations, and environmental remediation.
Polivio’s studies include a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra. Jason collaborates closely with our clients to identify and solve training, mentoring, or production needs. Since starting construction work in high school, Jason has used his genuine passion for making things come to life as a foundation for his career in the AEC industry, which kicked off in 1996. Throughout his time in the industry, Jason has worked as a drafter, designer and CAD manager for a large national firm, in the field as a surveyor, and has worked on projects from residential subdivisions and industrial complexes to large shopping centers.

This project included legal analyses, site evaluation and grading, creation of geo-referenced Real Estate Summary Maps in CADD and GIS, creation of geodatabases in the SDSFIE 3.0 data model, and 2-point boundary survey coordination, for the northwest and midwest United States. Helped by updating workflows to better utilize the software and worked using ArcGIS, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and Bluebeam to revise proposals, and worked with survey data in GIS and Civil 3D to develop Real Estate Summary Maps.
Frito-Lay Charlotte Global Engineering Solution (GES) – 2016 – Design/Drafter – Created construction documents for this ‘green field’ new facility. Worked on this project using AutoCAD Civil 3D and helped by developing details and creating existing and demolition plans based on on-site survey calculate sanitary flows, placed gas, water, fire and sewer piping and structures as well as coordinating connection points with MEP disciplines, and traffic control.
Ilima Swimming Pool Complex at Hale Koa Hotel – 2019 – Designer – All design elements of the pool complex incorporate Hawaiian culture and aesthetics. The entrance is flanked by waterfalls cascading down lava rock walls (and pillars) topped by fire bowls, and gas tiki torches line the perimeter. The pool is shaped like the Hawaiian War Club with white fabric awnings to represent shark teeth on the club. The pool complex also features brick pavers throughout, and the resort’s renowned Indian banyan tree “Esmeralda” is prominently featured in the design.

Alex assists clients with all things drafting and designing in Civil 3D. He has worked alongside civil engineers, professional land surveyors, land use planners, geotechnical engineers, GIS professionals, architects, developers, and contractors, and has collaborated with a variety of engineering technicians.
In addition to being a certified professional in Civil 3D and an Autodesk Certified Instructor (ACI), Alex has a degree in civil engineering technology with a certificate in land surveying. His work experience includes civil engineering design, surveying workflows, oil & gas drafting, GIS and database management and maintenance, and information technology. He has experience with BSE software including Skyline, DASH, and REV Database, as well as experience in creating, maintaining, and managing drafting standards and protocols. Alex is also experienced in modern surveying methods including GPS and total station data collection, construction staking, and survey data reduction.
Production Projects
Remington Flats Subdivision – Lead Drafter and Designer – The Remington Flats Subdivision is a 152-lot major subdivision located in Missoula, MT. Alex worked with a small civil engineering team to accomplish the layout of the subdivision, roads, curb & gutter, sidewalks, water systems, sanitary & storm sewer, and dry utilities. Alex drafted a large variety of exhibits throughout the subdivision approval process, from pre-design all the way through to as-builts, final platting, and construction coordination.
Oasis Loop Pipeline – Lead Drafter and Designer – The Oasis Loop project is a 16-mile steel pipeline in north-central North Dakota. In addition to drafting all exhibits, including both legal plats and construction alignment sheets, Alex assisted in the field during both the staking phase and the as-built data collection phase as a survey technician and party chief. Due to the complexity of this project and submittal requirements, Alex oversaw the formatting of over 10,000 survey data points and the processing of them into a highly specialized GIS database.
Jiffy Lube/The Harper/Mudman Burgers – Lead Drafter and Designer – A commercial development in Kalispell, MT that included the rehabilitation and improvement of an existing restaurant site in addition to a new development connected on the same site with a Jiffy Lube and a multi-story housing unit. The project included complex grading to meet ADA and storm drainage requirements, as well as full utility coordination.
Consulting Projects
Civil 3D Local Deployment – Professional Consultants Inc, 406 Engineering – Alex installed and initialized multiple seats of Civil 3D and created templates, standards, and workflows. He supported rolling these out to engineers, planners, surveyors, and production drafters to increase collaboration and productivity within the organization.

Dale’s journey with Autodesk products started with AutoCAD R14 (Softdesk 8), LDD 1, LDD2, LDD3, and Civil 3D 2007 – 2024. He is proficient in all things Civil 3D related. As he pursued his degree at Virginia Highland Community College (VHCC) he kick-started his career as a drafter for a local mining reclamation engineering firm in his hometown of Abingdon, Virginia. Over the course of 25 years, Dale has gathered experience in civil infrastructure projects including water & wastewater design, single-family land development, multifamily land development, commercial design, and land planning. He has worked for various engineering firms in Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina where he has worn many hats, including Technical Drafter, Engineering Technician, CAD Designer, Computer Systems Manager, and Regional CAD Technology Manager.
Dale is also a U.S. Veteran and served in the United States Navy during Operation Desert Storm (1991) aboard the USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71 – Nimitz Class Nuclear Aircraft Carrier) based out of Norfolk Naval Base (Norfolk, Virginia). He was also part of Operation Provide Comfort I (1991).
Dale holds an Associate in Applied Science with a major in Computer Aided Drafting and Design Technology from Virginia Highlands Community College in Abingdon, Virginia. He also took Information Technology classes at ECPI Technical College in Raleigh, North Carolina to help aid him in working with network environments in relation to CAD management. He is an A+ Certified and Microsoft Certified Professional and looks forward to adding more certifications as he progresses in his career.
Production Projects
Johnston County Waterline Design – Dale was the Lead Designer for a 36-mile long 20-inch water main project in Johnston County, North Carolina, and helped with surveying, fieldwork, and drafting and design of the 100-plus drawing set that included ortho photographs used for placement of the waterline along various roadways within the county. He used AutoCAD LDD 1 for the drafting and design of this project.
Duplin County Transfer Station Design – Dale was the Lead Designer for the Duplin County Transfer Station in Duplin County, North Carolina. He helped with surveying, CAD Design, and permitting at various state and government agencies. He used AutoCAD LDD 3 for drafting and designing this project.
Stoots Mountain Recreational Subdivision – Dale was instrumental in the layout and design of a recreational subdivision in Wythe County, Virginia. This was a huge project that encompassed many hours onsite helping locate wetland areas of impact, working with local reviewers, and laying out and designing roadways and stormwater control for this 300-plus lot community. The community was purchased by a group of retired firemen from Florida to develop for recreational use. He used Civil 3D 2010 to lay out and design this project.
The Farm at Timberlake – Dale was the Lead Designer on this single-family subdivision project located in the South Strand of the Greater Myrtle Beach area near Surfside South Carolina. He worked on the last phase of this multiple-phase land development project and designed the roadways, lot layouts, infrastructure, and storm ponds for this phase of the subdivision. He also helped with grading and cut & fill analysis for the project as well. He used Civil 3D 2022 to lay out and design this project.
Consulting Projects
In-House CAD Management for a Virginia-based Engineering Consulting Firm– Dale worked as the Regional CAD Technology Manager and was tasked with creating Civil 3D workflows tied to company standards and ensuring design teams got the training and technical support they needed for day-to-day operations. He also assisted with design team assessments and coordinated with the Director of Design Software and traveled to regional offices to conduct these assessments and gave feedback reports on where teams could improve with efficiencies and workloads to leverage their profitability on all civil land development projects.
