What are the DiRoots plugins?
The DiRoots plugins are premium add-ins for Autodesk Revit and Autodesk Civil 3D that automate repetitive tasks and simplify data and model management efforts, each continuously refined through the adoption of real user feedback.
Are the DiRoots plugins free?
Following the 30-day free trial, Premium Licenses can be purchased for individual plugins or bundled at a discounted price. Enterprise Licenses are also available at a discounted price to accounts with a minimum of 100 DiRoots users.
Licenses are appliable to the DiRoots Autodesk Revit plugins: DiRootsOne, DiStem, ProSheets, and IDS4Revit, and the Civil 3D plugin: DiCivil.
Is there a free trial for every DiRoots plugin?

Each DiRoots plugin is routinely monitored by our team of developers who typically release monthly enhancements, new features, and bug fixes. Details are published online.
DiRoots App Manager is a free standalone desktop application that will keep your DiRoots apps up to date automatically. Easily install DiRoots applications and enable/disable other Revit plugins in one place.
Where is the data stored when using the DiRoots plugins?
No data or information is ever stored to the cloud using the current DiRoots tools. Content can be imported/exported to external cloud services like Google Sheets and Autodesk Construction Cloud, but the data itself is all stored in local files. DiRoots does not have, nor leverage, a cloud storage service.
Is training available for the DiRoots plugins?
We offer free DiRoots product demonstrations to walk you through key features, highlight practical benefits, and provide you with an opportunity to ask questions along the way. And, because intuitive user experience and practical functionality are at the core of everything we develop, we find most users are up and running without extensive training or time commitments.

Who are DiRoots custom development services for?
Any Autodesk user in need of expanding the current functionality of the software.
Though DiRoots became leading Autodesk developers because of their Revit plugins, industry professionals have trusted DiRoots since the beginning for software solutions beyond that. Custom development is available for all Autodesk products (not just Revit and Civil 3D).
What is the custom development process like?
Once a customer has had a product demonstration with our technical specialists and we’ve collectively identified the true need for something custom, ATG and DiRoots work together to deliver a solution grounded in real-world practices with a focus on user experience, performance, and long-term maintainability.
Thorough research and proof of concept development are completed before providing any proposals or signoff so we can guarantee everyone agrees on what’s being built.
Typically, a Beta Release is provided ahead of the official installer, which initiates the warranty period.
How is the solution delivered?
Solutions typically come in the form of a software plugin, like our commercial tools, where the installer (.EXE) is digitally signed and supported for silent installation.
How is the solution cost determined?
Cost is determined on a project-based basis.
Hours and costs vary with complexity, but our goal stays the same: deliver the right solution without compromising your priorities or budget. After thorough research and concept development, we provide a fixed-scope, fixed-cost proposal, designed to eliminate surprises and reduce overhead. Most solutions we scope range from $1,500 to $150,000.
What is a Beta Release?
A Beta Release is provided ahead of the official installer, serving as a development checkpoint/sample of the application to ensure the solution is coming together as expected by all parties. The delivery of the Beta Release typically marks the start of the warranty period.
Is there a Warranty?
We provide a warranty period of 60 days, which starts with the delivery of the Beta Release or delivery of the Final installer.
All identified bugs in the application during this warranty period are fixed at no additional cost. We guarantee the solution we deliver will meet the specifications outlined in the signed scope of work, and any issues preventing it from meeting these specifications will be resolved at no additional cost. Please note that this warranty does not cover any changes or modifications made to the solution by the customer or any third party. Reference our Master Service Agreement for full terms and conditions.
What is Intellectual Property?
Intellectual Property is the ownership of the code, logic, and ideas behind the plugin. Regardless of who came up with the idea, we typically retain full ownership of the source code’s intellectual property.
Without IP ownership, customers still retain the right to share, distribute, or deploy the plugin internally or with external consultants, including the ability to monetize the tool’s usage.
What are the alternatives to custom development?
- Sticking with what you’ve already got typically means forcing your team to work around the software instead of making the software work for you.
- General software developers may bring technical capability but typically lack firsthand experience in AEC environments, and training developers who lack Autodesk API experience can be resource-intensive and distract from your core project goals. Likewise,
- Low-code solutions like Dynamo are effective for quick, small-scale prototyping, but lack support for robust user interfaces and are limited in their scalability and system integration. The resulting solutions often fall short in terms of performance and are difficult to maintain over time.
