SectionBoxer is the newest premium tool for the DiRootsOne suite. It builds on Revit’s native Selection Box tool but takes it to a whole new level, allowing you more control over inspecting and manipulating elements you have selected.
No more tedious manual adjustments of bounding boxes – SectionBoxer speeds up your workflow, keeps you focused, and helps you get more done with less effort.
What can you do with the tool?
SectionBoxer allows you to create a section box from selected elements and then apply various options to the selection:
- Select 3D View: Choose the 3D view to apply the section box, or to be duplicated.
- Offset Buffer: Add a buffer around the bounding box of the selected elements (in project units).
- Duplicate Selected View: Create a new view before applying the section box, keeping the original view unchanged. The tool will automatically suggest a name (e.g. “3D Copy 01”).
- Isolate Selected Elements: Apply a temporary Isolate to the selected elements in the target view.

The development of SectionBoxer was strongly driven by user requests to bring “everything under one roof,” which means having one integrated toolset instead of installing and managing multiple add-ins alongside the DiRoots tools they already have.
Additionally, the ability to develop the code logic in-house allows the DiRoots team to reuse the foundation for future development and expand across other current and future tools.
