- Geo-Tracking
Data Tables
Designed with the new Map 3D user in mind, this class is dedicated to familiarizing the new user with basic Map 3D commands. Users will find this class an essential tool for understanding the core concepts of AutoCAD Map 3D. This class assumes the user already knows basic AutoCAD commands.
Course Length
4 hours
Data Table
- Allow the user to attach information to standard AutoCAD Lines and points.
- Create a Data Table and Assigning Object Data
- Attach the Object Data to the Line or point
- Modify the attached Object Data
Annotation Template
- Attaching labels to the AutoCAD object that will pull its information from a Data Table
- Define a Template
- Insert ASCII Characters
- Edit and Modify via the Block Editor
External Database
- Using the ODBC, the user can bring in an external database (Excel, Access) allowing it to interact in Map
- ODBC
- Attach
- Link
- Associate with Objects
Add Line Work to Feature Layer
- Allowing the user to add additional features to an existing map.
- Line – Polygon
Survey Data
Designed with the new Map 3D user in mind, this class is dedicated to familiarizing the new user with basic Map 3D commands. Users will find this class an essential tool for understanding the core concepts of AutoCAD Map 3D. This class assumes the user already knows basic AutoCAD commands.
Course Length
4 hours
COGO Points and Lines
- Enables the user to create Points or Lines in the map using surveying techniques
- Coordinate Tracker
- Bearing – Bearing
- Bearing – Distance
Data Store — Survey Information
- Survey Data Stores are dedicated SDF files that are directly editable.
- Hierarchy of a Data Store – Store
- Importing Point Groups
- Add and delete points
Feature Layers
Designed with the new Map 3D user in mind, this class is dedicated to familiarizing the new user with basic Map 3D commands. Users will find this class an essential tool for understanding the core concepts of AutoCAD Map 3D. This class assumes the user already knows basic AutoCAD commands.
Course Length
4 hours
Feature Layers
- When adding Feature Classes to a map, each feature class is treated as a layer and is displayed in the Map Task Pane in the Display Manager tab.
- Right Click Options
- Styles
- Add a Rule
- Thematic Rules (distribution, Style Range, Number of rules)
- Legend label
- Feature Label
- Queries – Scale Range(0-Infinity) – Symbols (Libraries)
Join (Two Feature Layers, Feature Layer to ODBC)
- Allows the user to combine two feature layers together to combine the data based on a unique ID
- Primary Table vs. Table to join
- Type of Join: Keep all vs. Keep only left side with match
- Relationship: One-to-One vs. One-to-Many and Modify via the Block Editor
Export Query Searches (SDF – SHP – Bulk Copy)
- Unlike AutoCAD layers, feature classes do not contain and styling information, and in most cases, do not support more than one type of object such as lines, points, or polygons.
- Export a SHP to an SDF
- Bulk copy features from an SDF to an SHP file
Advanced Feature Layers
Designed with the new Map 3D user in mind, this class is dedicated to familiarizing the new user with basic Map 3D commands. Users will find this class an essential tool for understanding the core concepts of AutoCAD Map 3D. This class assumes the user already knows basic AutoCAD commands.
