Meet the Team- Josh Belden & Arcelia Upshur

Happy Thanksgiving week from ATG! We are truly thankful for all of our clients who give us the privilege of being their Autodesk reseller. Thank you for a wonderful 2017. We hope to continue our partnership with you for many years to come. We are also grateful for our truly talented employees. Meet Josh Belden and Arcelia Upshur in this week’s employee spotlight.

Josh Belden, Account Executive, ATG Headquarters.

Before ATG USA, I was a retail salesman in the Automotive Industry. Before that, I was a High School English Teacher. My wife and I met in college and this January we will celebrate our 12 year anniversary. We have four boys, ages 2, 7, 11, and 19. I’m an avid reader and collector of novels, comic books, and toys. I’m the biggest Star Wars nerd at ATG Headquarters. Don’t think so? Your lack of faith disturbs me.

How long have you worked for ATG Headquarters?

I’ve been here for just over a year.

What do you like most about working for ATG?

This is a tough one. I honestly can’t choose just one thing. I’ll do a top 5 in no particular order. I like the people. I like that my manager has high expectations but doesn’t feel the need to micromanage. I like the perks and rewards- I mean how many people get taken to the state fair in a party bus for lunch by their employer? I love the flexibility that is granted if I have a family emergency, or need extra time off. I like the satisfaction of having happy clients that offer references or testimonials about their experience with ATG as a technology partner.

What does your day-to-day role at ATG look like?

I come in a little before 8 AM to respond to any emails I might have received. Then I review my follow-up activities for the day. From 8:30-11:00 AM, if I don’t have any scheduled calls or meetings, I hit the phones really hard. A daily goal of mine is to make a minimum of 10 calls by 10 AM. Call volume drops from 11-1 because it’s just harder to connect with clients in that window. I use this time to research potential clients and plan for my unscheduled calls. I spend the rest of the day on the phone, writing emails, and researching. It’s more exciting than it sounds, I promise!

What are the most pressing issues facing your customers? How do you help with these issues?

The issue I see most is cliché, but true. Keeping up with the Joneses. If my clients can’t offer the same quality of services as their competitors, that’s not good for them. The way the industry is evolving is scary to some of these folks. Part of my job is showing them and helping them understand that evolution. I take this challenge to task by asking the right kinds of questions so that I can evaluate and offer the best way to help. If I’m not providing solutions that make their life easier, I am not doing my job.

What is the key to maintaining a successful relationship as an Autodesk reseller?

I honestly think the main thing is to be memorable. The good kind of memorable! Whether they remember that I responded so quickly to an inquiry or that I made them laugh on the phone, my main goal with every client or potential client is for them to remember me for the right reason. In my experience, clients also appreciate honestly and sincerity. All of my clients know that I don’t call to just sell them something. I want to provide a solution to their problems or business challenges. A solution that fits their timeline and needs.

Arcelia Upshur, Account Executive, ATG West

How long have you worked for ATG West/CADsoft Consulting?

Going on an awesome 4 years!

What does your day-to-day role at ATG look like?

Picking up the phone with a smile and looking forward to ending each and every call knowing that I put a smile on the other end.

What is the key to maintaining a successful relationship as an Autodesk reseller?

Staying in contact with clients on a regular basis so that there are never any surprises on what they need to know or what I need to share with them. Also, honesty is always the best policy.

What are the most pressing issue facing your customers?

There is a shortage of qualified applicants to fill in the desired positions that my clients are needing to fill. I enjoy knowing that I can really help them because we have qualified support reps here that can help out with the tasks. I also enjoy sharing the tools we have for my clients to help them make sure they gain qualified applicants to fill those positions. So either way, I know I’m here to help them figure out the best solutions.

What kind of good things do you see in the future for ATG?

This team has grown but I see it growing so much more. Our main goal everyday is to make sure each and every one of our customers are taken care of. With our fabulous tech teams, and my fellow sales reps, we all are here for our customers. Growth always comes with some really awesome things.
