FAQ: HIVE Content Management System

There are many features in HIVE, so finding the content you need may seem difficult and overwhelming. Luckily HIVE is equipped with tags and filtering so you can find what you need, when you need it. Here are some of the most common questions we receive about HIVE.

User Status

When you have a user that you want to remove from the list, you can disable to delete them. However, when you delete a user, they do not actually delete. They go to another list. You can check the list by going to the HIVE management portal > Users & Groups and then switching to the Disabled or Deleted list. Once you see the user, you edit them and make them active again. You can also reset their password, or the user can do the “Forgot Password.”

HIVE Tags

Tags in HIVE are used as keywords to make it easier to find the content you need. It is recommended to only create Tags for groups and not based on things like the Revit category, version, or Family names since HIVE search can already filter/search by those. So, making tags is for other keywords that you might use for searching. Examples: Government, Residential, Commercial, Education, Healthcare, Approved, or the CSI list numbers.

Filtering

Using the HIVE Filter feature makes it easier to find what you are looking for. You can filter by library, tags, Revit categories, Display units, Host type, version, AutoCAD Categories, Files extensions, rating, dates, and added/updated by. All of those can help narrow down the search to only show what you want. You can also use standard searching and change the filtering to find the content.
