Q: What is Revit Cloud Worksharing?

A: Revit Cloud Worksharing (previously known as Autodesk Collaboration for Revit or C4R) is the in-Revit portion of BIM 360 Design and includes functionality like initiate collaboration, model open, sync with central, and publish.

Q. What is the Personal Accelerator (PAC)?

A. The Personal Accelerator is used by Revit Cloud Worksharing to pre-fetch data from BIM 360 to speed up sync with central and model open operations. Only one version of PAC is installed on a machine and works with all Revit versions.

Q. What is Cloud Models for Revit?

A. Cloud Models for Revit is a new subscription-only capability introduced in Revit/Revit LT 2019.2 to store non-workshared cloud models to BIM 360 Document Management.

Q. Can some users of Revit Cloud Worksharing be on the patched version and some on the unpatched and work together prior to August 3rd?

A. While there are no known issues with mixed point releases working with cloud worksharing models, we recommend patching teams working on the same models together as much as possible.

Q. Is the order of patch installation important?

A.  For the most part, the order that patches are applied to a machine does not matter. The exception is the installation of the Personal Accelerator (PAC) update for .NET 4.7. As there is only one installation of PAC on a machine and a PAC update is included in the Revit 2017-2018 patches, the .NET 4.7 update is optional if you install one of the Revit 2017-2018 patches. We encourage installation of this update on machines running .NET 4.7 as this will limit the need for future updates by enabling the use of the highest TLS version available.

Q. What if I miss the August 3, 2019 deadline?

A. For most Revit versions, your installed Revit client will no longer be able to communicate with the Revit Cloud Worksharing servers. This means that operations like sync with central and model open will not be available until the required patches are installed. Once your Revit version is updated you will once again be able to access your BIM 360 Design data.

Q. Where can I find downloads for TLS security updates and hotfixes?

A.  You can find downloads for Revit 2014 here and Revit 2015 here. Starting with Revit 2016 you can find downloads in Autodesk Accounts.

Q. How do I know if my updates were successful?

A. You can find build version numbers for installs the Revit release-specific TLS update articles. You can find links to the articles in the table above. To validate your updates, after running the installer, verify that the installed version matches the version specified in the TLS update article.

Q. Can this update be deployed with an enterprise software deployment tool like SCCM?

A. Yes, Revit updates are SCCM compatible.
